JOHANNA LEE

Originally from New York, Johanna’s career started when she wrote a feature screenplay in her last year of film school at NYU, which was quickly optioned. This was an exciting time, where famous actors were attached, and money was raised for production. Unfortunately, the financing fell through and this era was soon followed by an even longer period of — unemployment. Luckily, she had a friend who was a big-time Wall Street trader, who, tired of paying for all of their meals, found her a job at the New York Board of Trade. The fact that she knew nothing about math or making money, did not stop anyone from hiring her. As a result, Johanna became one of the only female traders in the history of the NYBOT. To her surprise, she find herself surrounded by fascinating characters and stories. In an unexpected twist, she made a movie about her experience called, THE PIT, which she sold to Netflix.
